Women of the Dawn is a grassroots agency formed by women who recognized the importance of self-reliance and the need to support each other in their communities. Our mission is to empower individuals, with a special focus on Aboriginal people, by offering comprehensive career and employment services in Regina. Our newest initiative, funded by Canada-Saskatchewan Career and Employment Services, continues this legacy of empowerment.

Our Clientele

We provide services to anyone seeking employment, but we specialize in assisting Aboriginal people, with a particular emphasis on:

Employer Services

In addition to supporting job seekers, we offer a range of services to help employers identify and recruit Aboriginal talent.

Our Services Include:

1. Career Planning

  • Helping clients identify their career goals and the steps needed to achieve them.

2. Educational Support

  • Assessing educational needs and guiding clients to relevant training opportunities.

3. Overcoming Barriers

  • Providing support and advocacy to overcome obstacles that may hinder successful employment.

4. Recourse Center

  • Access to computers and the internet, direct links to job opportunities, and printing services.

5. Workshops and Information Clearinghouse

  • Offering workshops on various topics.
  • Providing community information and referrals to training programs.

Transition Services

We provide specialized support for individuals transitioning from reserves, assisting with:

  • Cultural Adjustments
  • Accessing Essential Services

Employer Collaboration

We work closely with employers to:

  • Provide cultural awareness programs that promote a better understanding of Aboriginal culture in the workplace.
  • Identify qualified candidates for job openings and ensure smooth transitions for new hires.
